The future of this blog

If you've been reading this blog for the last couple of months or if you follow me on Twitter then you know that this was my last year in Japan. I came home to Ohio two weeks ago and as of now I have no immediate plans to return to the land of crazy Kit Kat flavors.

I am both sad and happy about this. I'm sad because I loved my inaka town, my Japanese friends, and hunting for new Kit Kats. I'm happy to be home because I missed my parents, my adorable nephew, and my American friends. But besides general homesickness I had a really good reason to come home and that is because both of my sisters are pregnant! This winter I will have a new niece and a new nephew.

Blah, blah, blah, who cares about babies right? What about the chocolate? you're asking. Well don't worry just because I can't scour the shelves of my local conbini for Kit Kats doesn't mean I can't keep up this blog. I hope to keep the Kit Kat love alive by ordering them online. That does mean that I probably won't be updating quite as often as I have in the past but keep your eyes peeled because there will be new reviews.

Until then let me know what Kit Kats you are trying and what you think of them!

  1. Welcome back! It seems like new KitKat releases in Japan have slowed down for the time being. Maybe Nestle Japan knew you were returning to America?

  2. You're from Ohio? Hey, me too! Do you know of anywhere in Ohio to get Japanese Kit Kats? Because if it exists, I haven't found it yet.

  3. I've only tried a few Japanese Kit Kats. I think my favorite is the dark chocolate (boring, right)? But my niece just shared some shoyu ones that her friend brought back from Japan. The salty-shoyu-sweet-chocolate combo is surprisingly good. Hope you're able to get more Kit Kats soon!

  4. I've stumbled upon your blog and was very surprised about your articles. I didn't know that kit kat had a lot of different flavors. You gave me a new vision on kitkat bars. Now I'll have something additional on my to do list when i go to japan

  6. nice blog you have! I love Kit Kats too, and have been hunting for new ones for my brother in the States. Yes, and Japan does have crazy Kit Kat flavors! Well here in Osaka maybe the flavors are not as many as those in Kanto, but here we have some limited edition ones once in a while. Hope you'll keep up with this blog!

  7. I'm so sad that you are not in Japan but glad you are still featuring the kit kats. I live in Okinawa and I eat every flavor kit kat I can find, but I'm often haveing to look here to identify the flavor as I can't read Japanese! Keep up the good work!
