Contest!

Nestle Japan is offering to bring back one past favorite flavor in December based on internet votes at their website. The winning flavor will come back in December. You can vote up to three times a day for your favorite flavor. You can vote for the following 20 flavors:

Almond Kit Kat
Strawberry Kit Kat (dear God, please no!)
Orange Kit Kat
Green Tea Kit Kat
Lemon Cheesecake Kit Kat
White Kit Kat
White Maple Kit Kat*
Cherry Blossom Kit Kat
Azuki Bean Kit KatVanilla Bean Kit Kat*
Kinako Kit Kat
Caramel Pudding Kit Kat
Salt & Vanilla Kit Kat*
Royal Milk Tea Kit Kat
Pudding Kit Kat
Tiramisu Kit Kat
Salt & Caramel Kit Kat
Cocoa Kit Kat*
Strawberry Cake Kit Kat
Black Sugar and Kinako Kit Kat

This has inspired me to host a comment contest of my own. Let me know in the comments which flavor you'd like to see come back. Once the Nestle contest ends I'll select a random comment and send that person whichever throwback flavor Nestle brings back (and maybe a few more from my collection.)

And go vote for your favorite flavor at the Nestle Japan website! There are two Strawberry and two Pudding flavors in there - we can't let them re-release those for the 21323423th time!

*Haven't been reviewed on this blog so I'll be voting for these.

  1. Hum, actually the Caramel Pudding Kit Kat wasn't too bad. But I'd like it if they could put something out that wasn't recent or as similar to other ones also. I wish they would do more milk and dark chocolate ones since they seem to have a lot of white chocolate ones.

So I'm going to go with the Orange Kit Kat and hope if they do make it that the orange flavor and scent are not too strong. Chocolate covered orange candy is pretty good when made right.

  2. The Royal Milk Tea Kit Kat sounds great - I looooooooooooove Japanese milk tea!

  3. I think I'd vote for Orange, Azuki Bean, White Maple and one of the Kinako-variants.
As much as I'd like to try the "classical" ones like Cherry Blossom- or Green Tea-flavoured Kitkat, those pop up every year as far as I've seen (and Cherryblossom im December when Cherryblossom-viewing is far in the future? no). Same goes for all kinds of Strawberry-flavour.
Well, in the End it wouldn't matter, since I haven't ever seen anything other than the plain standard KitKat (and the white ones) in any stores here in Germany.

  5. Oh wow, so many flavors that I'd like to have again!

Kinako and Black Sugar Kinako were two major favorites of mine. I never did get to try Tiramisu though. I think I might have to vote for that one.

I supposed I should support a mikan or orange flavor, since I was a Shizuoka ALT, but I think I'll pass. :D

(I'm confused about voting for them to offer green tea or sakura. I really love both flavors, but isn't green tea sold year round at the airports? And isn't sakura made every spring?)

  6. Oh man, this is the toughest decision ever, haha! I think I'd have to vote for Royal Milk Tea, since that is my absolute favorite drink! :)

  7. I'd have to choose the salt & vanilla flavor. Everything else on the list I've either had already, sounds like it would taste too similar to some other flavor, recently had a re-release, or is still available for purchase somewhere. And god forbid another strawberry Kit Kat would get a re-release. The horrors!! (´Д` )

Salt & Vanilla all the way~

  10. Vanilla bean! That's sound so yummy:) The only interesting Kit Kats I've had are the 3 Chunky ones-- Cookies & Cream and Caramel... so actually all of them sound good!

  11. Since it's slated to hit store shelves sometime in December, I’m going to go with something that will give at least the illusion of warmth. My picks are: Cocoa, Royal Milk Tea, and Macha. I’m rooting against the salted caramel. Who came up with that combination anyway? It tastes like something the tide dragged in. I’ve had salt water taffy from Atlantic City, N.J. but the salt and caramel Kit Kat was just too much of a cultural shock to my senses.

  16. Hmm, probably the Vanilla Bean Kit Kat would be my pick. I wish the old 2008 KitKat Caramel was there...or Cookies and Cream! Those were the best.

  17. hi jen! i reeaaallyyy love kit kats, and all these flavors sound so interesting! i've never tried any of them, but from the looks of it i'd really like to try the cocoa kit kat! it looks really good and reminds me of the winter holidays! :) my second choice would then be royal milk tea and last choice green tea (anything green tea is a must!)
